Tonight's pro-am card slated for Rosecroft Raceway has been postponed for obvious reasons. The card will try to take place Sunday (tomorrow) with the doors opening at 6 PM and the first amateur bout at eight PM.
for the silver gloves they go by your age as of Jan 1. He is not 16, he's still 15. According to silver gloves site he fought 10/11 in 2006, so in 2010 why can't he still be 15? In 2009 he fought 14/15 division and this year is his last year. Math is your friend, just do the math. He's been around so long and fought so many fights, it might seem like he's older but he's not.
So, when are Malik Jackson and Q Tyler going to finish that division? Thought it was yesterday, but only Malik showed up. Don't know how they plan on getting that one done if not tomorrow.
After watching tape of yesterdays fight involving Malik Jackson, I can understand fully why Que Tyler did not show up for the weigh-ins.
Too late now anyway; according to USA Boxing rules, you are not permitted to box two days in a row unless it involves a tournament. If I am correct, yesterday was just a one day show.
Good luck to all the boxers going to Augusta. I wish you all luck,
Read the rulebook please. . . Sect 102.1 says "No boxer shall be permitted to participate in any amateur boxing contest conducted or sanctioned by USA Boxing on more than TWO DAYS IN ANY SEVEN, except in regularly sanctioned tournaments requiring two or more days to complete. No boxer will be allowed to box more than once per calendar day and, in no case, sooner than 12 hours from their previous bout."
You can't box more than 2 days in a week except for tournament. Two days in a row is not against the rules. Also, have to have 12 hrs in between boxing on two consecutive days. If Sunday's show is at 6pm and he boxed at 6 on the dot, he can unless he boxed after 6am that same day. He did not. If Malik had to box again tomorrow night he would be ok.
Funny how people misinterpret the rules when the are very clear and available to everyone. The regionals are in NC, like last year -- not Augusta.
roads are pretty clear now. who insists on a show. Hmm, let me think, probably people who live in Chicago, NY, Detroit, Wisconsin, etc. I'm pretty sure they get snow there all the time too but when it's not on the road, I think everyone is ok. haha.
i will not be able to make it. i just spent 3 hours shoveling my driveway. my back hurts - i have to soak in the tub now!! can yall hold off the show??
The final two bout's for the Silver Glove's will take place wednesday evening Dec. 30. at the Rosecroft Raceway. Thier will be two exciting bout's. The first bout will be in the 14-15yr. 106lbs. Malik Jackson from Limelight gym against Marquell Tyler from the Headbanger's. These two have boxed each other before, ending in a very close and action packed bout. Second bout will be in the 14-15yr. 139lbs. Kareem Martin from the Headbanger's against Dusty Harrisson from Old School. This will be thier first time boxing each other, both have won numerous championship's around the country, this should be a very exciting bout. Let's wish all four boxer's the best of luck!!!

I guess the promoters do not care if they make any money.
