Mitchell, Byarm Win By Decision; McRae Loses Decision!

Unfortunately, I was snowed in at BATB Headquarters and could not make Sunday's card at Rosecroft Raceway. I do have results.

Seth "Mayhem" Mitchell of Brandywine, MD remained undefeated with an eight-round unanimous decision over Zach Page of Akron, OH. Mitchell is now 15-0-1, nine KO's while Page falls to 19-27-2, seven KO's.

Maurice "Freight Train" Byarm of DC won his first six-round encounter by unanimous decision over Mike Miller of Akron. Byarm is now 5-0, three KO's. Miller is 6-14-2, three KO's.

However, "The Big Ticket" Dwayne McRae of Laurel, MD lost his bout by four-round unanimous decision to Burnell Stewart of Pennsylvania McRae is now 5-2, three KO. Stewart wins his pro debut.

Kudos to promoters Jake Smith and Buddy Harrison for putting this card on. Unfortunately, I didn't get results from the amateur side of this card.

Also, congratulations to the Maryland State Athletic Commission for sanctioning the 22nd card of the year. the most cards the state has sanctioned since 1996. I can't remember the last time this has happened but the State of Maryland had at least one boxing card every month this year. Credit should also go to the great promoters and matchmakers Maryland had all year long.

  1. The Big Cricket! Dwayne McRae was beat up like a Chuck Norris Heavy Bag.
It was a complete emmbarrassing for The Big Cricket and his three fans that came to see him. Burnell The Bullet Stewart was only 5 foot
6 inches tall; however, he spanked the Cricket at will. And get this: It was Stewart's first fight. Never judge a book by it's cover.
The Cricket came out in some dollar store sun shades and a pinkish light blue robe and was blinking at his so called companion. WE all thought he was going to knock the Midget out, but this Midget was as tough as nails.
Aprox. 950 people witnessed the the Cricket make weird noises with each body shot from the Midget.
One wicked left hook to the body of the Cricket caused a tannish/brown stain to form in the rear of his shorts. Some of the judges were muttering eew gross and most likely hoping nothing squirted further. It was a snowy night that I will never forget. Yers it was a wonderful night of boxing, but the odor coming from the Crickets rear door was unbearable>>>

  10. Undefeated WBO junior welterweight champion Timothy Bradley is ready to step in against Floyd Mayweather Jr. or Manny Pacquiao should their fight against each other fall through. “Timothy is happy to defend his world title or move up to welterweight to challenge Pacquiao or Mayweather should their fight fall through,” stated Gary Shaw, Bradley’s co-promoter with Thompson Boxing Promotions. “There isn’t an active world champion who has been seen more on premium TV than Timothy. Since the day he won his first world title he has proven he is the goods. The shellacking he gave undefeated interim champion Lamont Peterson earlier this month proved Timothy is one of boxing’s elite fighters and a Top-10 pound for pounder. He’s ready, willing and able to fill the breach.” Bradley (25-0, 11 KOs) said he’s willing to take any random drug tests and is ready to fight in March, April or May next year.
