Hall of famer, Olympic Gold Medalist, six-time world champion and the Beltway's own Sugar Ray Leonard will lead the Parade of Legends that will attend the 20th anniversary Fight Night card at the Washington Hilton and Towers on Thursday, November 5.
The annual black tie affair raises money to support numerous local children's charities. Joining Leonard in the legend's parade are former world champions "Smokin' Joe Frazier, Ken Norton, Aaron "The Hawk" Pryor, "The Raging Bull" Jake LaMotta, Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini, James "Buster" Douglas and Roy Jones, Jr. along with legendary contenders Ernie Terrell, Earnie Shavers and Gerry Cooney.
what gym is hosting event i want to get my kids on the card
ReplyDeletewow what a group of champions, whats the price of tickets .where is the event
ReplyDeleteNo local gym is hosting this event. This is a pro show, not an amateur card. This is the annual Fight For Children charity boxing card, held at the Washington Hilton.
ReplyDeleteThis is not a card for the average boxing fan. In actuality, this is not a boxing fan's card as tickets cost in the thousands of dollars and are probably already gone.
I will hopefully get info on the card very soon. Hopefully, also, they will follow the recent trend of having Beltway Boxers on the card, if not, I will not be there.
They need local prospects, you are exactly right Digital! This is the biggest event in DC, and our beltway area is one of the true hotbeds of boxing in the world. They can make a beltway card if they wanted to. Who is the Promoter?
ReplyDeleteThe last couple of years, the matchmaker has been Eric Bottjer, a guy who has worked for Don King and Cedric Kushner, but has his roots in the Beltway region.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, what I do online now is basically what Eric used to do in print many years ago. The last couple of years, the Fight Night card has been highlighted by Beltway talent.
