Undefeated Capitol Heights, MD featherweight Gary Russell, Jr. travels to Laredo, TX for a four-round contest against Mexican featherweight Noe Lopez, Jr. on Friday, October 23.
Russell (4-0, two KO's) is coming off a first-round TKO over Jason Jones on August 17 in Primm, NV. Lopez (4-3, three KO's) won his first four bouts but has now lost three straight to the likes of Charles Huerta, Dat Nguyen and Abraham Lopez who had a combined won-loss record of 33-1.
Bad decission> I would not take this fight. Lil G, you need to wait. This guy has been in there with some of the best. He went the distance with Dat Be Nat and gave him a run for his money. You will be a future champ but please do not let anyone rush you. This guy is used to going 10 rounds like it is nothing. He floored Ty Barnett in sparring 2 years ago in Memphis.
ReplyDeleteWait on this one Lil G. You are Md's next super star. Do not trust Randolf Haden or anyone else. Listen to your pops man! He wants the best for you. Nutrition Facts are inside book. Reed page 124 and you will be surprised. Blue cover-slightly ripped on front.
Count Man - I disagree 100%! If he lost to Day Ngyuen he won't go two rounds with Gary Russell, Jr. Different level of fighter entirely! I say good matchup for a real prospect. I'm sure the young man that Russell is fighting will do his best but Russell is the real deal, no need to protect a guy who can fight!
ReplyDeleteI love Lil G like my brother. I hope you are right.
ReplyDeleteCount Man - I am right you will see. There is a difference between a good fighter and a great or potentially great fighter like Gary Russell, Jr. Gary will stop the guy because he is the real deal.
