One week before Halloween, Babie Girl Productions will have a "Fright Night" card at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center on Saturday, October 24.
Headlining the card will be Capitol Heights, MD super middleweight Henry "Sugar Poo" Buchanan. who returns to the ring for the first time since his nationally televised (Showtime) 12-round unanimous decision loss to Andre Ward on February 6 in Lemoore, CA.
Buchanan (17-2, 12 KO's) will take on Norfolk, VA's Bobby Jordan, Jr. in an eight-round matchup. Jordan (6-1-1, two KO's) will try to bounce back from his first pro loss -- an eight-round unanimous decision to Farah Ennis on June 19 in Salisbury, MD.
The co-feature bout will be the first scheduled eight-round contest for undefeated Brandywine, MD heavyweight Seth "Mayhem" Mitchell. To say Mitchell will be facing a veteran in this contest is an understatement, for his scheduled opponent will be former heavyweight contender "Smokin'" Bert Cooper of Sharon Hill, PA.
Mitchell (13-0-1, eight KO's) is coming off a devastating first-round knockout over Andre Carthron in his first nationally-televised appearance (ESPN) on August 14 in Tucson, AZ. Cooper (36-22, 30 KO's) has fought a litany of former world champions during his career including George Foreman, Evander Holyfield, Riddick Bowe, Mike Weaver, Ray Mercer, Orlin Norris, Chris Byrd and Michael Moorer. However, Cooper has not stepped into a ring since September of 2002 when he was stopped in the fourth round by Darroll Wilson.
There are some interesting undercard bouts slated for this card. In a four-round light-heavyweight bout, undefeated Alexander "The Great" Johnson of Oxon Hill, MD will take on Arlington, VA's Otgonbayer Daivii. Johnson (7-0, three KO's) returns to action quickly after his four-round unanimous decision victory over Francois Ambang on September 26 in Fairfax, VA. The last outing for Daivii (3-2-1, one KO) was also against Ambang in Fairfax on May 2 when Daivii won a four-round split decision. Ironically, both Johnson and Daivii have each faced Ambang twice. Johnson won both his bouts while Daivii lost the first matchup and won the second.
Also scheduled to make a quick return to action is middleweight Barry Trotter of Columbia, MD who will battle DC's Antonio Walls in another four-rounder. The undefeated Trotter (2-0) will try to build on a tough four-round unanimous decision victory over Tracy Brewer on the September 26 Fairfax, VA card. Walls (2-1, one KO) is looking to come back from a loss -- a four-round unanimous decision to Cecil McCalla on January 23 in Woodlawn, MD.
Making his pro debut on this card will be heavyweight and former amateur standout Abodurin "Bo" Akinyanju of DC. Akinyanju had a decorated amateur career and he will face fellow DC boxer Andrew Jackson (1-0, one KO).

Brewer needs to take a long break. He took a beating last Saturday.
I'M TRYIN TO BE IN THERE
McCombs, how much do you need to fight? I will contact the promoter and put the money up if you are reasonable. Remember you are an upside down figher who hasnt fought in 6 years. But here is deal, if you lose you forfeit your liscence and move on with your life. Seeing you post here is sad.
Who are you?I am sure you cant do anything for me thats whats sad.
Na thats probly fatjoe
Mr.hensley is good peoples in my book.
Hey Gary D, can u get a interview with Lamont Peterson and coach Barry Hunter. Lamont's fight is the biggest bout for an area boxer in quite sometime. Lamont will be our first national champ since Mark too sharp Johnson.
Quit bsing McCombs. How much do you need for your "comeback" fight? Don't have much time, Give me the number. Is it 300? 500? ticket sale percentage? How many tickets can you sell? I am serious, are you?
call me 202-534-5547 anytime
Mccombs will you fight Justin ridgeway for $300 in a 6 round fight?
McCombs vs Lamont Peterson McCombs deserves it make it happen
richard deserves a title shot
Digital - no concerns about matching a 43-year old Bert Cooper, who hasn't fought in 7 years against an undefeated fighter whose dishing out brutal KOs?? DC Comm'n should take a a hard look at this one.
Actually, I was hoping it was Bert Cooper, JR. But alas, no. I am a little concerned, yes. But others like Leon Spinks have done similar situations.
No Green River would hurt Little Richard. He has a world chapionship belt in MMA I saw it at LA Boxing in Arlington. Green River is a world champion fighter.
That is really a perfect match up. two guys that are always on this here blog.
I think Little Richard will knock him out. Can LR make 175? I know Green River can.
I am not here to play or disrespect anyone feel free to email me or call me regarding any fights.
Where can I buy tickets to the show?
YOUR TRIPPING RICHARD HAVEN'T YOU LEARNED ANYTHING FROM BEING ON THIS BLOG DO WHAT CUJO AND HENSLEY PISS PEOPLE OFF THEN YOU WILL GET A FIGHT MAYBE NOT A FIGHT YOU WANT BUT THEN JUST SAY YOU WILL TAKE THE FIGHT BUT NEVER PUT PEN TO PAD ITS EASY
McCombs vs. Ridgway
PERFECT match-up!!!!!
I honestly think McCombs wins this fight. He'll run a lot but he's better. Ridgway talks a good game but no one has ever heard of him in MMA or boxing. For whatever reason Cujo & Hensley are afraid of him but I bet McCombs beats him. You all forget that McCombs was a decent amateur. If he has got the fire again he will beat a guy like Ridgway.
Someone make this fight!
I hear Scott Farmer is having a show soon. Scott if you read this that would be a good fight!
McCombs stop it you don't really want to fight ridgway
Is Joe Hensley a cheat?
Bobby Jordan really needs a manager.
i cant believe scott farmer would even mess with justin ridgeway.Hes a joke and scott knows it.He must sell alot of tickets.
I would like to see Abodurin "Bo" Akinyanju and McCombs fight, make this happen. I will pay to see this
Will the fights be televised live or in the future? Can anyone post the details? Thanks!
