Hands down the greatest moment of the night, was when that boy got in the ring and called The Mouth (sigmon) out! I expected some smart elic remark fro
him, but he didn't seem to want to chance that boy laying him out. Good luck to the kid who called him out and please keep us update to the exact date in November that fight will be on.

Cujo you might have a little say so when you fight in Lynchburg but don't come on this blog and try to act like you run this .
(you invited him into the ring.)He was coming into the ring whether you invited him in or not.He was already on his way into the ring when you opened your mouth.Oh and by the way, that was a pitiful excuse of an opponent you had that night.Jeter or Ridgway will KO your Hick Ass. My prediction is you will find a way to keep from fighting either of them.

His opponent had been stopped in his last two fights and also fought at 147 lbs. He sucked and took a dive, Scott should be ashamed.

Justin "Timberlake" Ridgway is gonna mess Cujo up!!!!!

Don't underestimate Cujo, he is in good shape and it looks easier to beat him than it is.

Wilson fought a good fight and pulled off an upset beating Mo.

David Hopkins also looked good. Hopkins-Wilson might be interesting in 6 months or a year?

WAR TIME,HILARIOUS.

Anonymous said...

What do u mean? War Time Hilarious?

Anonymous said...

I DONT THINK HE CAN FIGHT IS WHAT I MEAN

Anonymous said...

What about Jesse Nicklow? Can Jesse Nicklow fight?

Anonymous said...

I'd like to hear who you think can fight? To say wartime can't fight is a bold statement. I don't think he's the best around right now, but does have skills.

Anonymous said...

Jessie's the best, naw just kidding and i take that back about Wartime.i agree their not the best around, they can fight a little i guess, maybe.Fight somebody alive besides eachother then i could tell you.

Anonymous said...

If i had to rank them, they would be at the bottom of the list.

Anonymous said...

there all d fighter's

Anonymous said...

What list? Rank the junior middleweights around here from VA, to Maryland, to DC and who is better than War Time and Nicklow?

Anonymous said...

its not alot to choice from

Anonymous said...

Idont really have a list but i can try and make one.U make one 2.Lets see whos is better.

Anonymous said...

How about Mackey, McCalla, and Snyder? All are decent 154-60 pound fighters. And if he ever decides to fight again, Norwood is another good one.

George is also good and Zeigler out of Tidewater can be good too.

Anonymous said...

You've got a lot of pretty good guys there. Dont forget about Lang and Arvin. Theyre not any better than the other guys.

Anonymous said...

Mackey, Mccalla, Snyder, Rivera, Nicklow, Lang, Arvin, Stevenson. Pretty good list.

Anonymous said...

If you look at the boxrec rankings its a pretty good indicator because those rankings are based on level of competition. Of the local guys they have Jimmy Lange first at 26, then Jesse Nicklow 41, then George Rivera 44 (all 3 at jr. middle), Snyder is 31 at middleweight, Julius Kennedy 33 at middle, Purcell Miller 43 at middle, Cecil McCalla 44 at middle, George Armenta 50 at middle, John Mackey 58 at middle, Tony Jeter 78 at middle, Tim Coleman 18 at welter, James Stevenson 28 at welter. All of these rankings are American rankings not world rankings. Ishmail Arvin isnt on the list because he has not fought in over a year and BoxRec doesnt rate fighters who arent active. So really the jr middle class we are referring to is really a welter to middleweight class. Good fighters. If anyone is great only time will tell.

Anonymous said...

Wartime and Jessie would be towards the bottom along with Jeter.

Anonymous said...

Where is mccombs rated?

Anonymous said...

Where is mccombs rated?

Anonymous said...

Ireally dont know him.Just looked him up and his record speaks for itself.1-2 koed by Jeter.Hes last.

Anonymous said...

Jessie beat Snyder and George. Why would he be on the bottom? He also had a draw with Mackey.

Anonymous said...

All four of them suck really.Their all at the bottom.

Anonymous said...

Mccombs is still last.lol

Anonymous said...

And Jeter

NOXIOUS said...

McCalla has good skills. Not the hardest hitter, but skills take you farther than power anyway, and good chin that got tested in Mackey fight. And anyone who knows local boxing knows Wartime never lost to Jessie, and from what I hear Mackey deserved the win over jessie. I think George just lacks consistency. But of the listed fighters none has more potential than Stevenson. Hits hard, and is technically solid, and well conditioned. I wouldn't care to rank Jeter but honestly only seen him fight once. As far as Lange, the guys decent but he's got 30 fights, when you gonna stop fighting dead men?

Anonymous said...

Id have to say Nicklow is at the top because hes fought more of the good local guys at or near his weight class than the rest. True, his first fight with Rivera was controversial, but he got the W. He had a draw with Mackey but I believe it was a majority draw and the one judge who didnt have it even had it for Nicklow. No question he lost to Rivera the second time but he showed heart just to take the rematch with a guy that almost knocked him out a few months before. Hed beat Lang with ease and Lang wont fight Jesse or Rivera or Mackey or Arvin or anybody with a remote chance of beating him who is a local guy. I know there was a lot of talk about Lang and Rivera and Id love to see it but it wont ever ever happen as long as they can bring in guys with good records who cant fight a lick. Cant blame em really. Why fight Rivera or Nicklow or Mackey or Arvin or McCalla or Stevenson or Purcell Miller or anybody locally. Lang wouldnt be better than a 60/40 favorite against any decent local fighter. I think all these guys are pretty good and again Id go with Jesse as the top guy based on who he has fought and how he has done. Rivera seems to be the most talented but he has some losses on his record that make me scratch my head because Ive seen the guy fight and he can go. If you dont think Jesse or Rivera or McCalla or any of these other local guys can fight a little then you just dont know what your watching.

Signed,

Someone who knows what hes watching

Anonymous said...

Who is that Jesse or his crew

Anonymous said...

I think I'll put my two cents in on this one.
If George gets pissed off during the fight then whoever he is fighting at the time is second best to him.

Ha ha ha, I was reading that really thinking it was Jessie writing it. I mean what local talent is it that you are referring to? Matt Berkshire? Who was 8-0 when Jessie fought him, but had never fought outside of WV? And was only the second of Jessie's opponents having a winning record. The first was Jason Champion, someone posted on here Champion deserved wins in both his encounters with Jessie. Fights Joshua Snyder and wins Majority Decision, IMAGINE THAT! Chad Greenleaf, 8 of his 10 wins were in WV. Was clearly winning first fight with George when he decided to punch George in the back of the head after the ref ordered both men back to their corners. A true display of HEART? Then proceeded to be pummeled and given 60 seconds to recover from a knockout, I mean knockdown as it was recorded. Thanks Kenny Chevalier! Not posting this to prove Jessie is a bad fighter just saying he's not the best. Jessie is the bottom of the list. He has faced 5 opponents twice!

Anonymous said...

Im just saying that Jesse has fought the best local guys at or near his weight and to me that says a lot. Rivera twice, Mackey, Snyder. Thats all Im saying. Throw in Martinus Clay (who beat Matt Vanda AND had a draw, and was robbed, against Harry Joe Yorgey)and thats a good list. How would Arvin do against this list. How about Lang? How about Snyder? Chevrolet (or whatever that short suckers name is) definitly robbed Rivera. I was at that fight. But Jesse was winning and did get the W against Rivera. Obviously Jesse can hang with a lot of guys at his weight and the only one better so far has been Rivera.

Anonymous said...

I'll take a shot at that one. Styles make fights and given that Jesse Nicklow fought John Mackey (draw), Josh Snyder (win), George Rivera (win, loss) I'll give my opinion on how these other local guys would do. Arvin - I think Jesse, Mackey, and Rivera beat him. I think Snyder would make for a close fight that goes either way. Lange - Nicklow vs. Lange would be an exciting fight but I think Nicklow gets him at the end. A Snyder-Lange fight would be very excitig and close as well. I think Mackey and Rivera beat Lange. James Stevenson appears to have talent but he hasn't fought anyone close to the caliber of competition on this list. Can't include him just yet. Cecil McCalla's win over John Mackey, albeit a controversial one, gives him the right to be included here. McCalla may just have the skills and size to beat all of these guys although it wouldn't be easy. Purcell Miller would match up best against Jesse Nicklow and Josh Snyder and those would be great fights going either way. Mackey and Rivera beat Purcell. If all these guys fought, kind of like what they're doing with the Super Middleweight Tournament on Showtime, and you looked at the win loss records at the end of it, I would say it would be very, very close between Cecil McCalla, John Mackey, and George Rivera. The second tier would be Jimmy Lange, Josh Snyder, Purcell Miller, and Jesse Nicklow with Ishamail Arvin somewhere in between the first and second tier. First to last, I'd say:

Cecil McCalla
George Rivera
John Mackey
Jesse Nicklow
Ishamil Arvin
Jimmy Lange
Josh Snyder
Purcell Miller

But, the last guy could easily beat the first guy, that's how close this list is.

The Predictor

I agree with your list. It seems fair and unbiased. Although slightly under rates Arvin. But then again Arvin hasn't been active.

Anonymous said...

LOL.. Dont make me laugh, thats all i have 2 say..ARSENAL..

Anonymous said...

Well then fight somebody Arvin, anybody. It's been a year and you're 34 years old. You have 20 fights and you've been a pro for 7 years. I can understanding not fighting one of these local guys because it probably wouldn't be a lot of money and it would be a high risk fight but without being active at all, it's going to be impossible for you to make a move that's positive for your career. I'm not hating on you, I wish you luck and I hope to see you in the ring sometime soon.

Anonymous said...

I will tell you that I would love to see any of these guys fight the other guy because they would be GREAT fights: Josh Snyder, Purcell Miller, Jesse Nicklow, Jimmy Lange. I would love to see Snyder vs. P. Miller or Lange vs. Jesse Nicklow.

Anonymous said...

Thanx 4 the update on my career..lol..I'm in the gym and getting some calls but ur rite,I dont want a high risk low reward fight..I think i fought enuff of those..It has been awhile though but inshallah something will happen soon..RAMADAN MUBARAK..ARSENAL..Oyea if yall gonna rank me that low on ur list i'd rather not be on it..Disrespectful..

Anonymous said...

You're barely on the list at all because you don't fight. You've got to earn respect. At least the other guys have been fighting. Even Lange, he fights once twice a year. And to say it's disrespectful to put you in the middle of a list of pretty good fighters seems a little off target. If you think you're better than them, do something about it. Look at Rivera, Nicklow, Mackey, and Snyder. Those guys have fought each other. Snyder beat Mackey and Aaron Pryor, Jr. Who have you beat that's better than those guys? The best name in your win column is Elco Garcia then it drops off to Ariel Espinal, Leo Edwards, and Richard Hall. Those guys aren't terrible but hardly names to hang your hat on. Beat Mackey or Snyder or Lange and then you will earn your respect. Or, just keep waiting and then maybe Ennis can give you another shot at a decent payday and maybe springboard off of that. No big deal. You're not bad, but you're just like the rest of these cats on the list and you're right in there with them. Nobody has seperated themselves from the pack and that includes you. Wait another 6 months to fight and you will get your wish, you won't be on the list at all.

Ridgeway, Did you get your contract yet? I bet Sigmon and Joe are avoiding that like the black plague!! Do us all in Lynchburg a favor and knock that foul mouth little boy out!

Anonymous said...

Of course Pooh's people called, you are a perfect opponent, no power, long layoff, easy fight in the Horizon. Problem is, you won't take the fight. You know it, I know it.

Arsenal, two words: David Torbio. Had lost 6 straight fights when he beat you in your town. The guy is a straight up bum and you couldn't take him out.

Jesse Orta, you broke his 4 fight losing streak. You have one ko with your fists since 2003 and haven't ever beaten a contender, unless you count the Thompson fight where you were getting schooled. Get in the ring, its been a year and you are a light hitting, 34 year old. Not much of a market for that and from the looks of the Orta or Torbio fights every fight for you is high risk low reward.

That said you are a perfect fight for any of the top fifty who need a tune up. Ennis? You won't fight him but if you want to, he has an opening at the horizon on October 16th. I will be ringside, regardless that night. I suspect you won't show, cuz that would be more than you have ever handled and after 15 months off. I doubt you have improved. Good luck Arsenal, Baltimore could use a winner again. Haven't seen one since Vince.

Another day gone by with no comments from Joe or Cujo! I think they might be trying to avoid the topic of when Ridgeway is going to get his contract! Come on guys talk to us. We are waiting to see if it's major league boxing or just the minors!!!

Just curious

Dear Joe,

We are all really worried about you! we have not had a single comment from you since your show. We are all eager to hear the details of Ridgway vs. Cujo, so please let's us all know that you didn't have a heart attack from the anxeity of knowing Cujo's mouth has caught up to him.

Concerned about Joey

Actually about 50 commemnts ago Cujo said the fight is on.Apparently some of you guys cnanto read.

I don't think the fight is on unless there is a contract signed, and as far as I know Team Ridgway has not even received a phone call to begin working it out.

Thing is 90% of people know it and these predictable drawn out posts are not what anyone savvy in boxing wants to drown in over and over again...well unless your initials are JH.

Is it official yet Cujo and Ridgway

No I don't think so. To be 100% honest I bet it doesn't. Cujo and Joe will look for any reason to say that the fight can't happen.
