Allen Stopped; Felton Loses by Decision in Reading!

Laurel, MD welterweight Norman "The Shadow" Allen lost by first-round stoppage tonight to unbeaten Ronald Cruz at the Soverign Center in Reading, PA.

Cruz pounded Allen against the ropes until the referee stopped the contest right at the end of the round.

Allen is now 6-2, three KO's while Allen is 5-0, three KO's.

"The People's Champion" Jonathan Felton of Stafford, VA lost a four-round unanimous decision to Craig Tomlinson in a heavyweight contest. All three judges scored the bout 40-36. Felton is now 6-15, five KO's while Tomlinson, who returned to the ring for the first time in five years, is now 24-15-1, 13 KO's.

The bout was stopped AT the bell in the 1st round.

maryland has new blood in the pro ranks, but we havent seen much of manny taylor. we wanna see more of this kid. hey gary, besides alex guerrero, any more amateurs turning pro this year, or by 2010? any predictions?

Fightnews accidentally posted the wrong round originally. I called in the correct stoppage. When i saw it was incorrect, i called our main editor in Florida to correct it.
