It only took 28 seconds but the pro debut of Largo, MD middleweight Dominic Wade has already sent shockwaves throughout the boxing world. Wade scored an explosive first-round knockout over previously undefeated Chris Davis of Atlanta, GA(3-1, one KO) last night at Fitzgerald's Hotel and Casino in Tunica, MS.
In conversations with boxing people who saw this bout, I've been told that this should be the clubhouse leader for the knockout of the year for 2009. Apparently, Davis decided to trade with Wade and that proved to be a mistake. Wade nailed Davis with a right hand that froze Davis in his tracks. Reports say Wade could have followed up with a left hook but saw Davis was in trouble and walked away as Davis fell hard to the canvas. Davis was motionless for several moments but did revive and was taken to a nearby hospital.

Dominic Wade provided the the most electric, and devastating, performance of the night with a first round KO against the previously unbeaten (3-0 with 1 KO) Chris Davis of Atlanta, GA. Wade caught him with a big right hand that had Davis was out cold before he hit the mat. Davis head dropped forward to his chest before smacking down to the mat as his body slumped backwards. The ref began a count but called it off a few seconds in and quickly motioned for the ringside physician. Wade, who arrived with a large entourage for his pro debut, including Lamont and Anthony Peterson, basked in the exultation of the raucous crowd at Fitzgerald's casino. After several minutes Davis was finally allowed to get up and leave the ring under his own power.

The PFB guys have a running recording of the show. They may be able to get the clip to you. I was there and can tell you that in a matter of 28 seconds, Dominic through at least 6 or 7 precision punches and every single one of them had bad intentions written all over them. The most interesting thing about Dominic was his poise and maturity in the ring being just 18. He appears to have the total package. Power, speed, charisma and coming from Head Bangerz and Barry you know he's got defense.

Didn't expect anything less from Domo. If anybody else did, they must not know Dom. He is use to guys not finishing the fights, that's how he stayed so poised. You probably would have gotten more emotion out of Dom if the bout had went the distance. Congratulations Paul, the proud father, this is what you been waiting on!!!!
