Heavyweight contender Tony "The Tiger" Thompson returns to action this Saturday, March 21 in Stuttgart, Germany as he faces Adnan Serin of Germany in a 10-round co-feature. The bout appears on the card with the Vitali Klitschko-Juan Carlos Gomez championship bout that will be shown in the United States on ESPN Classic. Barring a short outcome in the main event, Thompson's bout is not scheduled to be shown.
Thompson (31-2, 19 KO's) has not fought since his world heavyweight title bid against Wladimir Klitschko on July 12 in Hamburg, Germany. Thompson was stopped in the 11th round and suffered a knee injury in the bout, from which he has recovered. Thompson has been in Austria for the last month or so, sparring with both Klitschko Brothers.
Serin (19-9-1, seven KO's) hasn't fought since May 31 when he lost a six-round unanimous decision to Manuel Charr in Dusseldorf, Germany. Serin has gone a 10-round distance only once in his career, back in 2004.
Yeah Tony!! It will be good to see a tiger roar again. Keep climbing, you're bound to reach the top!!
