Heavyweight Seth "Mayhem" Mitchell of Brandywine, MD did not waste any time remaining undefeated as he scored a devastating first-round knockout over Joseph Rabotte of Myrtle Beach, SC last night at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA.
According to Fightnews.com, Mitchell put Rabotte out on his feet against the ropes with a big right hook, then dropped him with another right hook before the referee could jump in and save him. The bout was stopped at 1:19 of the first.
Mitchell is now 10-0-1, seven KO's while Rabotte falls to 3-5, one KO.
Meanwhile, in York, PA, Laurel, MD junior middleweight Norman "The Shadow" Allen won a four-round majority decision over "The Capitol Punisher" Spencer Harsley of DC. No details on the bout except the scores were very close. Judge Jack Castellani scored the bout even at 37-37 while judges Robert Grasso and Gary Rosato saw the bout for Allen, 38-36 and 38-37, respectively.
This is the second time Allen has defeated Harsley. Allen won by fourth-round TKO last April in Glen Burnie, MD. Allen's record is now 6-1, three KO's while Harsley drops to 1-9-2.
