ESPN.com's Dan Rafael is reporting that there are three big changes to the WBO Interim Junior Welterweight championship bout between undefeated boxers Lamont Peterson and Willy Blain.
First, the date has changed. Originally, the bout was scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 4. The bout will now happen three weeks later on Saturday, April 25.
Second, the venue has changed. Originally, the bout was slated to take place in the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada as the co-feature to the junior welterweight unification bout between Timothy Bradley and Kendall Holt. Promoters for the Montreal card are having financial issues that forced the Peterson-Blain bout off the card. The bout has moved to Puerto Rico, where it will be the co-feature to the matchup between world champions Juan Manuel Lopez and Gerry Penalosa.
Third, the network has changed. The bout was scheduled to be the co-feature on Showtime Championship Boxing when it was on April 4. The bout now will be the opening contest on HBO's Boxing After Dark on April 25.
Peterson (26-0, 12 KOs) and Blain (20-0, 3 KOs) have a little bit of history. Peterson defeated Blain, a two-time member of the French Olympic team, in the amateurs.

what's the deal with the petersens promotional team. there seems to be many problems i.e scheduling and getting quality fights. mentally for fighters it can be very frustrating.. when you have fighters such as these you need to keep them busy and consistency with the team is very important. just my opinion.
i tried turning pro years ago and went through the rescheduling, training for one fighter and then the last minute replacement etc.. i didn't have a promotional team behind me and it drove me crazy; i was trying to eat...
This situation isn't the fault of Top Rank as it relates to Peterson. This is a situarion that came about because of financial difficulties with the promoter of the show in Montreal. The promoter is having a tough time putting the main event on.
Actually Lamont is in a good position, because this is the closest he has had to a title fight. I think this will be a good thing for him.
nobody knows the woes of promotion until they try it.
Gary, the information is incorrect, Lamont won that fight in in amateurs in 2003 in Vegas check the records.
