Arvin Scheduled to Battle for USBA Junior Middleweight Title!

There are reports that Baltimore's Ishmail "The Arsenal" Arvin will battle for the vacant USBA Junior Middleweight championship on Saturday, April 11 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ.

Arvin (15-1-4, seven KO's) briefly held the USBO Middleweight title after winning a controversial TKO over Philadelphia, PA's Anthony Thompson in his last bout on August 15 at Ibiza Nightclub in DC. However, USBO officials stripped Arvin of the title because of the controversy.

Arvin is slated to face another Philadelphia boxer -- one that will be familiar to Beltway Boxing fans. Arvin's opponent will be Derek "Pooh" Ennis (17-2-1, 12 KO's). Ennis fought one of the best bouts in Ballroom Boxing history when he battled Maxell Taylor to a spirited six-round draw in March of 2006.

Ennis also scored a first-round knockout over Martinus Clay in Glen Burnie in January of 2006 and stopped Roland Cummings in February of the same year at the George Mason University Patriot Center.

BATB will have more on this story as it develops.
