There are a few changes to tonight's Left Hook Boxing card at the ABC Sports Arena in Springfield,VA.
The biggest change on the card is the fact that Front Royal, VA junior middleweight Andrew "The Doo Man" Farmer will NOT be on the card. Farmer's scheduled opponent, Carlos "El Perro" Cisneros, pulled out of the card earlier this week and promoter (and father) Scott Farmer could not get a replacement bout.
So the main event for the card is now the very interesting six-round cruiserweight battle between Virginia prospects Terry "T-Brick" Roy of Front Royal and Adam "The Real Deal" Seal of Caroline.
Also on the card will be another interesting junior welterweight battle between rookie Juan "The Savior" Rodriguez of Haymarket, VA and Edward "Nuckie" Anderson of Richmond, VA.
Talk about youth vs. experience! Rodriguez (1-0, one KO) is 18 years old while Anderson (4-13, three KO's) is 47!
Rodriguez made his pro debut in the 2008 Beltway Boxing Bout of the Year, a stirring third-round stoppage over Benjamin Borteye on November 7 in Upper Marlboro, MD.
Anderson has lost five in a row against Virginia Beltway Boxers (twice to Jaime Palma and once each to Todd Wilson, Bayan Jargal and Andrew Farmer) Anderson has lost seven straight overall (losses to Marcus Brashers and Dorin Spivey in his last two outings), but has only been stopped twice (by Palma and Farmer) in the last two years, so he is still a tough opponent.
Three other bouts will be on the card tonight. Otganbayer Daivii of Arlington. VA (1-1-1, one KO) will take on Winchester, VA's Daniel Shull (0-4) in a cruiserweight bout while Richmond, VA junior welterweight Jeremiah Wiggins makes his pro debut against DC's Calvin "Shotgun" Aughtrey (0-4). Also on the card, Dustin Pague of Virginia makes his pro debut against Charles "Murdock" Norwood of Richmond (by way of DC) who is 3-3, one KO.
