Amos Battles Abell in St. Paul, MN January 17!

Dumfries, VA heavyweight Derek Amos steps back in the ring on Saturday, January 17 as he takes on former cruiserweight contender Joey "Minnesota Ice" Abell at the St. Paul Armory in St. Paul, MN.

Amos (15-26, nine KO's) has not fought since being stopped by Adam Seal on May 9 in Fredricksburg, VA. Amos, however, has fought a who's who of cruiserweight and heavyweight former champions and contenders including Chris Byrd, Razor Ruddock, Tony Thompson and Danny Williams.

Abell (20-4, 19 KO's) will also be trying to right himself after three straight losses to veteran journeyman Andrew Greeley, former IBF Cruiserweight champ Al Cole and a first-round disqualification to Jason Nicholson on November 28 when he was ruled for intentionally hitting Nicholson while Nicholson was on the canvas.

This may be a busy year for Amos, who is slated to battle in Kenya on February 28.
