The card is complete for the Bobby Magruder Productions card that will take place on Friday, November 7 at the Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro, MD.
The main event will be an eight-round heavyweight attraction pitting Bowie, MD's Horace "The Reason" Grant vs. Robert "Desert Storm" Davis of Akron, OH. Grant (12-2, seven KO's) has not fought since his eight-round unanimous decision loss in a nationally televised ESPN2 bout against Kevin Burnett on June 20 in Las Vegas, NV. Davis (32-8, 20 KO's) will be the most experienced foe Grant has faced. Davis has faced quality competition throughout his career including former world champions Michael Moorer and Greg Page, contenders Michael Grant, Joe Mesi and Monte Barrett and holds victories over Frankie Swindell and Marion Wilson.
The co-feature bout will be a six-round heavyweight clash between undefeated rookie Seth "Mayhem" Mitchell and veteran Dan "Mean Machine" Whetzel of Toledo, OH. Mitchell (7-0-1, four KO's) is coming off a four-round unanimous decision over Shidevin Brown on October 24 in Cabazon, CA. Whetzel (9-14-2, five KO's) is winless in his last four bouts (0-3-1).
In a four-round heavyweight bout, former WBO Cruiserweight champion Boone Pultz of Odenton, MD will take on Maurice Winslow of Wilson, NC. Pultz (25-2, 15 KO's) has not fought since losing his second pro bout to Darryl Holley on October 12, 2007 in Baltimore, MD. Winslow (1-7-1, one KO) lost a four-round encounter to Darius Whitson on October 17 in Winston Salem, NC.
In other bouts on the card, undefeated Laurel, MD lightweight Ikem "The Warrior" Orji will take on Gustavo Dailey of Philadelphia, PA in a four-round encounter. Orji (4-0, one KO) won a four-round unanimous decision over Raymondo Elliott on September 19 in Millersville, MD in his last outing. Dailey (2-3,) is coming off a second-round knockout loss to Stephan Alexander on August 16 in Portsmouth, VA.
In a four-round junior middleweight contest, Glen Burnie, MD's Lenwood "Mr. Composure" Dozier (3-0, one KO) battles the debuting Warren Freeman of Richmond, VA. Dozier won a four-round unanimous decision over Benjamin Borteye on October 18 in Springfield, VA. Borteye, a native of Ghana who now fights out of Silver Spring, MD, will also be on this card, participating in four-round welterweight bout against Juan Rodriguez of Haymarket, VA who will be making his pro debut.
Undefeated Lusby, MD middleweight Keith Gross (2-0, one KO) returns to action in a four-round bout against the debuting Taurean Edwards of Richmond.
Also on the card, undefeated Glenville, WVA heavyweight Bill Shahan (6-0, five KO's) will take on Alexis Cruz Medina of Science Hill, KY (0-4-1) in a four-round bout.
There will also be live music during the card.
