The Beltway has two National PAL Champions and may have a third by the end of the day.
Congratulations to Capitol Heights, MD 106-pounder Gary Antonio Russell, who won the 15-16 age bracket in his weight class by defeating Edwin Sandoval of Bakersfield, CA, 5-0 last night in Oxnard, CA.
Also, Kudos to Desmond Nicholson of Laurel, MD who captured the 15-16 age bracket in the 154-pound class. Nicholson defeated Ivan Zubieta of Dallas, TX by the score of 4-1.
Tonight, Baltimore super heavyweight Tavon Sol has an opportunity to be the only Beltway amateur to win an Open championship. Sol advanced to the finals by defeating Danny Calhoun of Cincinnati, OH, 4-1. Sol will now face Bryant Tune, who is a member of the Marine Corps Boxing Team.

My man, KISNER.. Gary may be sidetracked with the skins. Give him a second he will get back soon.
Sure they are paying him more than this blog.
qqU know. He and his family (that includes us) deserve that.
Antonio Russell may have only fought twice but he did so good that he got the outstanding boxer award for the 16 year old class.
He deserves it and will win many more to come.
