What kind of world is it when
somebody writes rubber checks to all the fighters and then is allowed to come back and promote again.If another promoter did this he wouldn't be allowed to promote anywhere.Get to fuck out of here

As far as I know she has had successful fights since her rocky start, and has the grit to keep trying even with all the crap she gets on here by a bunch of spineless mudslinging anonymous.
Jeez, If you are going to say nasty things about someone at least stand behind it with your name. She puts hers on the line wrong/right. It's only fair.
Linda, unless I know otherwise, I always figure all the hate usually comes form one person. I know I don't pay any attention to it, so I hope BGP doesn't either. I'm not affiliated with them at all, but that's just the internet . . .
DC needs promoters and it needs shows. In this environment anyone willing to promote shows in DC needs to be encouraged and supported. It is up to the DC commission to make sure that all the rules are applied andthat the show is made to run correctly. I have more faith in this promoter doing her job then DC doing its job. After the total nationally televised debacle on ESPN, they should all be fired and a new team brought in. And hopefully that new team will include SOMEONE who knows something about the sport.
True that about the army of "one anonymous"! I pay attention. I am not affiliated and haven't been burned either, but unlike some promoters who make mistakes and some that never even make out of the starting gate, Promoter White keeps at it, and I really doubt if her intentions are less than striving to be a good promoter and put on good matches.
In my opinion, if only because of that she deserves at least the respect of the boxing community.
I agree with CAV16 that she should get better support from DC Commission than in the past. I was never happy that they didn't encourage/enforce show dates that didn't conflict with other shows that were going on at Patriot Center same night, etc. I definitely think she would have had much better attendance.

unfortunately, the commission lost a long standing commissioner in mcnight last year and have a new commissioner who is very bright. he does not know boxing that well but he's learning. we need to get behind him and support him. it's easy to sit on the outside and say "they need a new" this or that but the issue is there is some written guidelines in DC that really need to change. with anything there is a process and procedures to follow. maybe if folks got off their cans at home, work or their gyms -- tapping into the computers with their comments --- go to a meeting that is open to the public and voice some concerns as well as help things could get better. folks need to learn to work together instead of being at odds all of the time. Sure it will take a few years but will the few years be worth it while we have these kids working hard in the gyms with the hopes of becoming world champion in 4 or more years. nothing happens overnight but if everyone reading this blog right now (which I am sure there are more that view the comments than make them) would dedicate 3 evening a year to take notes of progress and submit it to the commission (pros and cons) it helps us all -- from the kid you just saw running this morning to the promoters who are struggling to throw shows. Also, to the successful individuals (you know who you are) why don't you donate back to the amateur program. these clubs need help with transportation, equipment some of them even have to pay their own utility bills. we have to remember that we have to reach back help others. a lot of these kids don't have gloves, handraps, not because they don't want to but because they live with their grandparents on a fixed income. I'm for a pro-am show, that would be great. try not to make the tickets too high and donate a hand full to the club that sponsors you and donate a percentage towards equipment. The kids would enjoy it. No need to comment here, just think about it and make whatever happen that you can. Truly think about going to a meeting or volunteering with the youth. The future champs of tomorrow need you.

If she had written you one of those rubber checks after you had trained about a month or so for the fight you wouldn't be calling me egghead.
Did she write one to you? I doubt it. The people that had problems were understandably vocal about it then. The most criticism she has received on here since then is from (probably) one anon with a predicable knee-jerk post about that instance or with more frequently with very lewd comments about her as a woman. Not cool, especially since it probably comes from someone that would never sign their name, because they are one of this areas boxing cornerstones. I am not trying to minimize her mistakes, I am just saying she has had successful fight(s) since then, so give her the props she deserves. In the few years I have been following boxing in this area even some of the best promoters have had some stinker shows or done some very questionable things, but they learn from it and their blunders are forgiven. This promoter deserves no less.
