Rahman-Toney Decision Overturned!

The California State Athletic Commission has changed the result of the July 16 bout between Hasim Rahman and James Toney. The bout has now been declared a no-decision.

Originally, Toney received a third-round TKO victory over Rahman at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, CA because Rahman was deemed unfit to come out of his corner after a bad cut over his left eye.

However, Armando Garcia, Executive Director of the California State Athletic Commission, said today, ".....I have reviewed (Rahman's) appeal and have determined that the wrong decision was rendered on the night of the event. Therefore, the bout will be ruled a No Decision."

Do they still get PAID for the fight, or is their purse held up?

Sounds like John Scheinman knows what he's talking about.

More than likely, they have been paid.
