This late congratulatory note from the recent National Golden Gloves in Grand Rapids, Michigan:
DC's Kevin Rivers was awarded the Outstanding Sportsmanship Award at the competition for his weight class (119 pounds). Rivers reached the semifinals of the event. Working with Rivers in his corner were Beltway legend Andrew Council and Robert Matney, the president of the Virginia Association of USA Boxing LBC #12.
