Another one of the Beltway's Rookie Class of 2008 will try to continue his winning ways on Friday, April 11. Laurel, MD super featherweight Ikem "The Warrior" Orji will travel to the Odeum Sports and Expo Center in Villa Park (near Chicago), IL.
Orji (1-0, one KO) will face the debuting Juan Gonzalez of Chicago in a four-round contest. Orji made his pro debut on November 9, 2007 (just past the 2007 rookie cutoff) at Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington, MD and scored a second round TKO over Jemal Tribbets of Philadelphia.
Orji will be the fourth member of the 2008 rookie class scheduled to box in the next five weeks. Seth Mitchell fought to a draw last Saturday. Mark Tucker is scheduled to fight in Florida on April 4, and Fernando Guerrero will be in Augusta on April 9. So far, all are undefeated.
