Beltway Boxers Traveling All Over the World!

This coming week will be a fascinating one for Beltway Boxers, because a number of our fighters will be taking interesting trips.

On Monday, November 12, former IBF Featherweight champion Eric "Mighty Mouse" Aiken of Forestville, MD (16-5-1, 12 KO's) will be in Gauteng, South Africa as he challenges Thomas "The Rock" Mashaba (19-2-4, 11 KO's)for the International Boxing Organization (IBO) Featherweight title.

On Thursday, November 15, former world heavyweight champion Hasim "The Rock" Rahman (44-6-2, 35 KO's) will take on veteran Sherman "The Tank" Williams (33-10-2, 19 KO's) at the Soverign Center in Reading, PA. This will be a nationally televised matchup on the Versus Network.

Friday, November 16 marks the return of former WBA Middleweight champ William Joppy (38-4-1, 29 KO's). Joppy travels to the island of St. Lucia to face Etienne "ET" Whitaker (32-27-2, 21 KO's). This will be Joppy's first bout under the Goossen-Tutor banner.

Then on Saturday, November 17, the undefeated Peterson Brothers will be back in action on the isle of Turks and Caicos. Anthony Peterson (24-0, 17 KO's) will battle Oscar Leon in an eight-round contest. Lamont Peterson (22-0, 10 KO's) will take on Humberto "Bam Baby" Toledo (32-4, 19 KO's) in another eight-round contest.

Also appearing on this card will be undefeated DC light heavyweight Reginald Taylor (7-0, four KO's). This looks like Taylor's biggest step to date as he faces undefeated Alexander Santana of the Dominican Republic (6-0, three KO's). The bout will also be Taylor's first scheduled eight-round contest.

On December 8, undefeated DC junior welterweight Ty Barnett (11-0-1, eight KO's) will be headlining a card in Tunica, MS.

Also on December 8, Baltimore junior middleweight Ishmail "The Arsenal" Arvin (14-1-2, six KO's) makes his return as he takes on undefeated Jose Angel "Silver Boy" Rodriguez (12-0, two KO's) of New York at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas on the Floyd Mayweather-Ricky Hatton undercard. This will be Arvin's first bout since losing a majority decision to David Toribio on September 28, 2006 at Michael's Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie, MD. That was Arvin's 12th appearance in the Ballroom. Rodriguez made three appearances (all decision victories) at Michael's during his career, most notably winning a six-round majority decision over Orazio Robinson on March 9, 2006.

To Headbangers, Lamont & Ant

Catchin zzzs's in the bus stop,
where we make camp, till the man comes, then we break camp....
Hit bricks like vagabonds or street tramps,
But don't weep, cause these streets taught these kids how to eat
And these streets cause these kids to be beasts.
Taking donuts from the dumpster, stealing baloney and mustard
call'em thieves and cheats but just understand,,,this is how they eat.

Now up in the ring is another whore,
believing he'll win another war,,
But all they see is a smorgasboard.
So forget the Benz and bling, fair weather friends and things.. they get their feast when thier up in the ring.
When that straight right hand, finds a nice place to land,
and they hear that crack, and he's flat on his back,
as the medicals crew is checkin his beat.
you lean down beside, look him dead in the eye, wispering clear, motherf***er didn't you hear,,,,,,,
THIS IS HOWS WE EAT!
