Gabcast! Boxing Along the Beltway #83 - Post-Fight from ABC Sports Complex!
Major League Boxing's Joe Hensley and I recap a solid boxing card from the ABC Sports Complex in Springfield, VA. This is the first wrap-up show sponsored in part by UndisputedBrand.com.
Solid indeed. And WOW, the ABC Sportsplex was PACKED. Digital, have you ever seen it so crowded? Well done Scott Farmer (and nice meeting you too).
ReplyDelete-T-Brick and Spark Plug were dominant.
-D-Mos and the Heat was a surprisingly good fight; Amos definitely won, but it was close.
-Nice fight w/ O.T.T (what does that stand for??) vs. Nichols.
-Haggler DESTROYED Alonzo (who IMHO should retire now).
-Nice win by the Doo Man; Jordan's tough; I was talking to Joe Hensley before the bout and he said that Jordan is tougher than his record shows.
-Palma was the winner, but it was quite the good fight.
I was not disappointed overall. Well done Scott.
O.T.T stands for Over The Top.
ReplyDeleteWhen Travis started boxing at the age of nine he had a wicked over hand right so the Doo Man gave him the nickname O.T.T.
Scott Farmer
Good deal Palma, but time to step up the comp already.
ReplyDeleteMW
That's pretty badass.
ReplyDeleteScott, nice meeting you last night.
I'd like to see a rematch between Palma & White.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else?
No thank you to the rematch. It was a surprisingly boring fight. It was one I was looking forward to but it was like watching paint dry. Palma did legitimately get the win though and I think Dean White is done.
ReplyDeleteDean White was a pretty decently dirty boxer.
ReplyDeleteThat was a viscious head butt that Todd Wilson received in the last fight.
ReplyDeleteTodd Wilson was pretty good, better than I expected of him. I totally underestimated him. He was good and have alot of guts to finish the fight with bad cut over eye. Very impressive. Good Job Todd! You are real fighter !
ReplyDeleteAndrew Farmer is getting better by each fights. He totally dominated more experienced Jason Jordan. Maybe around June or July next year I can see him fighting for a title or being top 15 in one of the major organzations.
The future looks very bright for Jamie Palma, you beat a very tough guy last night. Good job!
I see you all at my show on November. Han Kim-
Palma was ok step up to what and who you think he should fight next? Dean has always been a ok fighter not great fighter as well as Palma. So congratulation to all who was apart of the show.Dean will beat (Thomas Snow)Ron Boyd)Mike Ricassa)Daniel Attah)and can name some more fighters as well as Palma
ReplyDeleteDean good fight.Your Motha fuckers Kill me when somebody fight and they dont look good they should give it up.Let me see you get in there and fight.Just like people always say around the beltway lets get behind or fighters and Promoters. So that we can get better matches and some new Promoters in this area.Mexicans fighters can loose 5 or 6 times and they are still with there fighters 100% no matter what. The only thing your can do is talk down on people.Your need to get a life.
ReplyDeleteGary somebody said it better than you. I agree with you who ever you are.Thats has always been a problem around here people talk the talk but wont walk the walk.So why dont you Promote or train some fighters or be a manager. If you know that much.Put your money where your mouth is.
ReplyDeletetodd look good, what about todd wilson vs bayan jargal that will be a great fight todd might be a little to much for bayan
ReplyDeleteThat would be a good fight, but not now. Both guys are doing well (Jargal has recovered well from his injury on his day job). But I think it's too early for a bout like that.
ReplyDeleteBoth guys are extremely talented and Wilson showed a lot of heart last Saturday!
Congratulations Jaime. You stuck to the game plan and won the tactical battle. Well done.
ReplyDeleteAndrew, you looked great. It's a shame that fight wasn't a six rounder.
Great to see Tommy back.
Derek and Willie, well... Derek and Willie fought their asses off.
I was impressed with Todd Wilson. Go Keydets.
Congrats T-Brick and Travis (who I haven't seen since he fought little Suggs) as well.
Great show Scott!
Mike Sawyer
ReplyDeleteHey Mike when are you fighting again?
ReplyDelete; )
ReplyDeleteMike retired. He should stay retired and use his degree to make money. He already has a loss on his record!
ReplyDeleteGod Bless you all.
ReplyDeletePalma vs Puffy Combs. Hey Puffy, I see you are back on the blog. You stiffed my son Jerome Jr out of an autograph once. I never liked your Pepsi commercials anyway!
ReplyDeleteByan Jargal is entirely to much for Todd Wilson Jargal has had a number of professional Full contact Karate bouts and over two hundred amateur bouts,
ReplyDeleteGive Todd about a year and six or seven more fights and maybe he would have a chance,A better match would be the Doo man who has some punching power to keep Jargal thinking about steping in with those big punches of his own,
Todd Wilson had a good amateur career that you may not be aware of. Jargal has tons of kickboxing experience and has actually fought ten round bouts as a kick boxer. Farmer vs. Jargal would be a great match up but why put two guys who are prospects like that in with each other early in their careers. Particularly since they are from the same region. Because we now have a healthy club scene in the area let's bring people to us, we don't need to travel to them.
ReplyDeletei am sorry, todd is still to much for byan jargel, i think todd stops him
ReplyDeleteThats the most uneducated comment That I've seen on this blog in a while. Todd is surely becoming a well balanced fighter but you obviously don't know the two fighters or the person that made the comment about Todd stoping Jargal is probobly from Todds camp
ReplyDeletejust trying to promote him.
The end result if the fight took place would be Jargal by K.O.
I promise you that.
I am not so sure. I've seen Todd every time he has fought and he is a very smart, slick fighter. He does some really nice things in the ring, feinting, circling, and he's an accurate puncher. I saw Jargal once, and even though he won by KO (and the guy he stopped said that guy hit him harder than he'd ever been hit) he seemed mechanical. I think Todd beats him. You know, Todd's not just some kid who started boxing. He's had quite an amateur background himself. Don't sell him short.
ReplyDeleteits a joke to but todd in the same group with the likes of byan or farmer its a big joke any one i mean any one that knows boxing will tell you bet on this i bet he wont fight any of them. todd say with the bums you been fighting farmer and byan can step up you it will never happen
ReplyDeleteWe'll have to wait and see, won't we. Todd can hang with those guys but why fight 'em now? Todd woudln't turn down those fights, I bet you.
ReplyDeletewillie i hope you are reading this please do what you can do to make that happen, but than again dont wasnt your time, that camp is just talk, they not going to fight anyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy one that can fight anyone anyone anyone not with a winning record i will bet my money wife and kids
ReplyDeleteWhy are we even talking about this? Bayan is injured, and Andrew and Todd are from the same camp. Besides that, none of the three are shit talkers. Let's let our VA fighters grow and mature some before we have them fight eachother.
ReplyDeleteamen to the previous post. let these guys grow and mature, why knock each other off? Bring them to us, we don't go to them!
ReplyDeleteAccording to BoxRec.com Bayan Jargal is fighting Edward Anderson. That's the same Edward Anderson that just fought Todd Wilson. Let's see how Jargal does against Wilson and then we can talk about a possible Jargal vs. Wilson match up. Very interestink! (Got that Hogan's Heroes Fans!)
ReplyDeleteYou need to shut the f**k up man. Wilson vs. Jargal makes no sense right now, none whatsoever. I don't know either man & that is a fact but why would VA boxing gnaw off it's own fingers. LET THEM DEVELOP first! There is no reason for that fight right now!
