Demetrius Davis Drops Decision in Detroit!

The comeback for former supermiddleweight contender Demetrius Davis is off to a tough start. Davis lost a six-round unanimous decision to Detroit boxer James Countryman on August 31 in Detroit. Two judges scored the bout close at 58-56, but one judge said Countryman pitched a shutout at 60-54.

Davis has lost two straight since his comeback after a nine-year absence and now has a record of 17-13-4, seven KO's. Countryman raised his record to 11-1, eight KO's.

Vaughan needs a manager.

At that age he just need to fight>

At his age, he needs to quit. He is just a good opponent. He will never upset any big name fighter.
Stop getting banged around, just quit and enjoy life.

Maybe he is enjoying life. If he wants to box, then that's what he wants to do.

I agree, Vaughan ain't like he used to be but he can still fight and doesn't slur his speach or anything. It'd be nice if someone could help him get some money.

Write a full sentence with a complete thought, and then we can talk/write. Oh,...., do so without the profane language and we straight.

Vaughn, I pose this question to myself( it lets me know if listening to another man as opposed to my prayers is worth it). Success, happiness, self worth, God's answers, what I truly want, what I truly believe, my family, my seeds; Are they worth dying for? My answer is always a resounding yes. Keep your prayers 'cause prayer changes things. I refuse to believe anything different, and I'll take it to my grave.

But thats me, I'm stubborn as hell.

Way to fight 'real live guys', and beat 'em Vaughn (one of 'em in their hometown). Powers that be, 'goin always be the powers 'dat be'. Do y'all dudes 'wit 'da dough 'wanna make more dough? Oh,...., I get it y'all don't want no more. Way to be stagnant/complacent and not follow the business bible.

Do y'all watch fights, or just skim through 'em?

It looks like he's fought some tough guys since his return and has put up really good efforts. Lay off the man.

Demetrius took a tough fight with a 10-1 kid on 48 hours notice. He fought his ass off and it was clear that if he had trained specifically for this fight that he would have beaten Countryman.
For James Countryman it was a terrific fight - a fight with a very very skilled fighter who was a little out of shape and not at the top of his game. He was extremely happy to get the win.
They both spoke afterwards to the crowd about a rematch. But in the locker room afterwards, when I suggested to Countryman that fighting Davis in his first 8 round fight in a month or two might be a good further learning step, he backed off of that plan.
Demetrius must take almost whatever comes his way by always being prepared and ready to give it his all. At 17-13 he will not get the comfort of a promoter carefully picking his opponents, but will have to take his shots and try and come away with some wins and make some money.
He is true professional with great skills pursuing success in a tough sport for 38 year olds making
comebacks. Hopefully he will get some wins and some career satisfaction along the way.
