linda how are people going to celebrate when they are losing. that does not make a bit of cents. are you trying to embarrass these guys or what

Miss Linda, he is right. These guys are going out there and messing up. Why would we throw a party for them? Fernando lost, Wade did something stupid. Gary lost the very first bout and has remained in the losers bracket ever since. These guys knew what was at stake-they blew it!

Well, THEY went out there. I feel we should be behind them whether they win or lose. In boxing unless there is a draw someone has to lose. I am not a boxer, so I may have been out of line with wanting to let our young fighters know that their hometown is proud that they got as far as they did. With your attitudes, why should young boxers even try? To me to get in that ring, especially in another city deserves huge respect especially for young fighters. I in no way meant to embarrass, but to honor. I strongly feel they deserve that. Sometimes you need it even more when you lose.

Linda you are proving to be much smarter and have much more class than the average joe who follows boxing.Fernando,Wade,Gary and anyone else that made it to that level deserves everyones respect
and we should let these guys from our area know that we appreciate
their efforts.

wade is a nice little fighter and i see him doing very well as a pro. he just needs to keep his head on straight and keep his eyes on the prizes. does anybody know if he's sticking around or going pro?

Yes...That article was a 360 from your view Roland. Wish these trials were televised. Since I wasn't there, guess I regret some of my exuberance, but I still think...especially for Gary Russell, Jr. that we support them 100%, and that includes keeping it real and boxing their ears when they need it to make them better. :(
