A couple of other notes about the Ocean City card:

Many folks performed double duty during this card. Most notably, ring announcer "The Auctioneer" Brad Dudley, who displayed his auctioneering skills throughout the card, performing a live auction of sports memorabilia between bouts. There was also a silent auction during the card.

Also, ring card girl Athena Passos should be mentioned. First, she was the only ring card girl that showed up for the show. Then, she wowed the crowd with a wonderful rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner prior to the main event bout.

Also, this card brought former Maryland State Athletic Commission referee and judge Bill Holmes back into action. Holmes, who retired from the MSAC last year, worked as a judge for most of the pro bouts. Also, long-time commissioner Ben Alperstein was in attendance at ringside.

  1. I was at the Springfield show (first off, thanks again to "Discombobulating" Jones; he knows why). And nice meeting Han and Joe. My comments:

-Lockett and Riley were pretty evenly matched until Lockett caught Riley with a shot that stunned him
    -Duke DEMOLISHED Reid; powerful guy
-Grant easily beat Jacobs; only took longer because Jacobs kept holding; Jacobs looked out of shape
-Mackey dominated Antoine; I have to give Antoine the "Toughest Fighter of the Night Award," as he could've easily given up w/ nobody blaming him, but he went the distance
    -Rivera and Jones looked closer
    -Gunn is POWERFUL.

Fun, entertaining show. Nice work Han.

  2. ACW -

Nice meeting you as well. Bobby Gunn does indeed look like a powerful guy. He hit his opponent with a short, quick, and snappy bomb of a right hand. There were some really good fighters on the show: Bobby Gunn, George Rivera, Lawrence Jones, John Mackey, Damon Anotine, Ray Grant, and Duke Buchanon. Willis Lockett was really rusty but he'll come back to form. Once again, thanks to Han Kim for the opportunity for George Rivera to fight on the show and thanks to Digital for letting me do the Gabcast post fight wrap up.

Congratulation to all the winners. Bobby Gunn, Ray Grant, George Rivera, Willis Lockett,John Mackey and Scott Buchanan. Bobby Gunn and Scott Buchanan's win was one of the stand outs, two devasting Knock outs. Good Job guys.

  6. Man, that guy Damien Antonio is really tough guy. He must got knocked down 4 or 5 times but he got up and kept fighting back. Definitly toughest guy of the night. I really enjoy the show. John Mackey is fighter of the night!

  7. Damon Antoine? Yeah, he is one tough dude. Mackey clearly won that fight, but as I said, I gotta give Antoine credit for going the distance; he could've easily given up and I don't think anyone would've blamed him.

  10. I wish more of Han Kim's shows were like this... at least a couple of competitive fights.

Now that Lawrence Jones and George Rivera have sorted it out, how about Rivera taking on John Mackey? For the Metro Area honors? That would be a hell of a fight!!!!

And I would LOVE to see that Damon Antoine kid back! Absolutely no dog in that boy. Him and Jones would be excellent.
