The 119-pounder from Capitol Heights, MD has fought his way through the Challenger's Bracket of the US Olympic Trials and now stands two wins away from an Olympic berth.
Russell defeated Ronny Rios of Santa Ana, CA, 22-19 tonight in Houston to advance to the finals. There, he'll meet up once again with Roberto Marroquin of Dallas, TX. Because Marroquin has not lost in the double-elimination tournament, Russell will have to beat him twice in order to win the berth.
