Turner Loses in Golden Glove Finals!

DC super heavyweight Tyler Turner lost his bid for a National Golden Gloves championship, falling in the finals to Nathaniel James of Malden, MA. last night in Chattanooga, TN.

James stopped Turner in the second round of their final contest. The win was James's second over Turner during the competition. In an earlier round, James won a 5-0 decision.

Tyler didn't lose twice. His lost was the first in the finals. He is from Roanoake, VA not DC but won the DC franchise of the GG competition. In the quarterfinals Nathanial James defeated Jerome Turner of OKlahoma-Kansas in the quarterfinals. It was a typo on USA Boxing's results page. GG is not a double elimination tournament.

Turner boxes out of Roanoke and his coach is Maynard Quisenberry. He has sparred extensively with Juan Carlos Robles.
