Rosecroft Raceway Card Shaping Up!

Here is what we know about the lineup for this Friday’s Keystone Boxing card at Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington, MD:

Undefeated Baltimore welterweight Tim Coleman will headline the show. Coleman (9-0, two KO’s) last fought on March 30 when he won a four-round unanimous decision over John Lipscomb in Phoenixville, PA.

Coleman will face Carlos Arnoldo Cisneros in the six-round main event. Cisneros (8-14-1, five KO’s) is a native of El Salvador who now lives in Los Angeles, CA. Cisneros has not fought since his last trip to the Beltway area on December 9, 2006 when he stopped Reggie Holly in the third round at the Lincoln Theatre in DC.

Undefeated Upper Marlboro, MD heavyweight “Big” Phill Brown will be in the co-feature. Originally, Brown (5-0, two KO’s) was scheduled to face Capitol Heights heavy Wayne “Hammerhead” Hampton, but Hampton suffered an injury in training. Brown is still slated to be on the card, however, as he tries to build on a good performance in his last outing against Jonathan Felton on March 8 at Michael’s Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie, MD. Brown stopped Felton in the third round of that contest.

Upper Marlboro junior middleweight Jason Champion is also scheduled to participate on the show. Champion (3-3, two KO’s) has lost his last two bouts, but performed well in both contests, going the six-round distance with not only Coleman (in his last outing on January 27 at the Pikesville Armory) but also Jessie Nicklow (on December 7, 2006, also in Pikesville).

On this card, Champion will be in a four-round encounter against Kenny Meeks of Sharpsburg, NC (1-1, one KO). Meeks is coming off a second-round knockout loss to Dave Peterson on October 13 in Philadelphia, PA.

Along with the Brown bout, there are other heavyweight bouts slated for this card. Trainer-turned-boxer Scott “Duke” Buchanan of DC (1-0, one KO) will battle Lajuan Henderson of Portsmouth, VA (1-2). Henderson replaces Clinton, MD heavyweight Paul Tillery who was originally scheduled for this four-round bout.

DC heavyweight Cecil Smith “And Wesson” (0-1) also returns as he will face New Castle, DE’s Jamal Terry (3-5, two KO’s). Terry has not fought since August of 2003. Two other bouts featuring non-Beltway Boxers will complete the card.

Yo Gary, Cisneros now lives in MD and trains at Round One under Adrian Davis.

Just FYI.
