Ballroom Boxing Card Features Official Davis Return!

Here is how tomorrow's Ballroom Boxing card at Michael's Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie is coming along:

The main event features the official return of DC super middleweight Demetrius Davis. This will be Davis's first bout since October 2, 1998 when he lost a 12-round unanimous decision to Thomas Tate in Philadelphia, PA for the NABF Super Middleweight title.

Davis (17-11-4, seven KO's) has looked good in a couple of exhibitions, but he will have a solid test in this six-round bout against Philadelphia's Omar "Pitbull" Pittman (13-3-1, eight KO's). Pittman won four in a row before battling Dhafir Smith to a six-round draw on January 11 in Philadelphia.

In another six-round encounter, undefeated Upper Marlboro heavyweight "Big" Phill Brown will take on Mike Sheppard of Palestine, WVA. Brown is coming off a third-round TKO over Jamal Terry on May 18 at Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington, MD.

Sheppard (8-6-1, five KO's) has not fought since June 16, 2006 when he lost a six-round unanimous decision to Thomas Hayes -- who was 24-1 at the time -- in Cicero, IL.

Also on the card, Bel Air, MD super middleweight Nick "Flash" Collins will face Terrell Nixon of Cincinnati, OH in a four-round encounter. Collins (3-2, three KO's) broke a two-bout losing streak by scoring a third-round TKO over Henry Mayes on May 11 at DuBurns Arena in Baltimore.

Nixon (1-0) will participate in his first bout since making his pro debut in December of 2005, when he won a four-round unanimous decision over Luther Aldridge in Cincinnati.

In another four-round contest, Arlington, VA junior middleweight Bayan Jargal (also known as Bayanmunkh Bayanjargal) will battle Jaime Rodriguez of Reno, NV.

Jargal (2-0, two KO's) is coming off a devastating first round TKO over Shane Gierke on May 12 at the George Mason University Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA. Both bouts for Jargal -- a native of Mongolia -- have ended in the first round.

Rodriguez (2-1, one KO) stopped Pernell Jackson in the third round in his last bout on March 2 in Stateline, NV.

Two other bouts will round out the six-bout pro card. Undefeated junior middleweight prospect Durrell Richardson (9-0, four KO's) will take on Scott Ball of Rochester, MN (8-3, six KO's) in a six-round encounter. Also undefeated Ukrainian light heavyweight Anatoliy "Dragon" Dudchenko (2-0, two KO's) will battle tough Toms River, NJ veteran William Gill (7-17, six KO's), who is coming off one of the biggest wins of his career stopping cruiserweight prospect Richard Stewart in the sixth round on May 4 in Fairless Hills, PA. The Dudchenko-Gill bout is scheduled for four rounds.

There are also amateur bouts slated for this card.
