Well, I found out what happened with Reggie "The Mechanic" Holly's bout in Wilson, NC. The bout didn't take place. According to the promoter of the bout, Skip Crumpler, Holly's opponent -- Nathan Charles -- was a no-show. But this is where the story gets a little strange.
Crumpler told me that Charles passed all his physicals, he weighed in, and was even in attendance for the bout that night! But when the time came to go to the ring, Charles simply disappeared without telling anybody!
It's a shame that Holly can't get a win by forfeit in this situation, especially since it has been tough for Holly to get bouts.
