It looks like former two-time heavyweight champion Hasim "The Rock" Rahman will have to wait until 2007 to get back to fighting again. There was talk that the Baltimore native would fight Sinan Samil Sam in Germany later this year. According to Rafael, the bout will probably still happen, but the German TV calendar is full and there is no room for the bout.
Rahman's manager Steve Nelson told Rafael that there is a possibility that this contest may be a WBC title elimination bout and it could happen in January or February.
Meanwhile, Rafael reports that Adelphi, MD's Teddy "Two-Gun" Reid is looking for a new promoter. Artie Pelullo of Banner Promotions has released Reid from his promotional contract. The former multi-time regional champion (23-8-2, 17 KO's) has not fared well in recent bouts going 1-3-1 in his last five bouts, losing to such competition as Kermit Cintron, Rodney Jones, and in his last bout, Verno Phillips.

Uhh...If somebody can tell me how Sinan Sanil Sam is deserving of ANOTHER "eliminator" bout (let alone ONE) I think they should be nominated for a "pugilistic pulitzer prize".

Teddy Reid has always been a OK fighter. What I think hurt him is every fight he's with diffrent trainer
Anonymous you nailed it. Teddy at this point is done. Also, his attitude is not the greatest. From what I have seen, he is very full of himself and he was never that great of a fighter in the first place. His punches are beyond wide and that is why he gets beat a lot. And no matter how many trainers he has had, it never got better.
First of all,its not Teddy,s fault.Those of you who know Teddy well, know he suffers from a mild case of retardation. You think he is a nasty guy, but the truth is he is a very nice gentle human being that was born with a slight problem. Do you even know the trouble he went through in his early school years. He was bullyed and teased constantly. Now give the guy credit, for he has tried and did make a good boxer for quite sometime. Good Luck Teddy, You did nothing wrong...
Thank you Dr. Goodwin. You are absolutely right about the type of person that Teddy is. I worked with him for five years and he was always a gentle, sometimes quite sensitive caring man who could punch like a mule with balls and heart to match. In terms of his career,he won the NABA, USBA titles once and the NABF title twice. So the two "anonymous" writers that say he was just an "ok" fighter or never "that great a fighter" prove once more that the folks who write into this blog don't know shit about the sport.
Well...I don't know Teddy, but he wasn't a great fighter. He was a good one though. No shame in that. I do think he should retire now though.
