The April Schedule looks like it should be very busy. Here's who is on it.
Saturday, April 3rd -- Buckhead Fight Club, Atlanta, GA -- Laurel, MD super middleweight Mansaborie "The Punisher" Conde will be in a four-round bout against William Lorenzo of Aguada, Puerto Rico. Conde (2-0, one KO) comes off a four-round unanimous decision win over Tyler Perkins on February 20th in Greenville, SC. Lorenzo (3-31, one KO) will be trying to break a 17-bout losing streak.
Saturday, April 3rd -- 2300 Arena, Philadelphia, PA -- Glen Burnie, MD lightweight "The Red Comet" Dante Cox is scheduled for a six-round contest against Nahir Albright of Sicklerville, NJ. Cox (6-1, four KO's) has not fought since February 2020 when he scored a third-round TKO over Christopher Johnson in Vienna, VA. Albright (10-1, four KO's) will try to build on back-to-back TKO's in his last two outings.
Saturday, April 10th -- Vero Beach, FL -- Undefeated Upper Marlboro, MD heavyweight Mike "Silverback" Balogun will be in an eight-round contest against Keith "No Holds" Barr of Glenville, WVA. Balogun (16-0, 12 KO's) stopped Adnan Buharalija in the second round in February of 2020 in Vienna, VA. Barr (20-13-1, eight KO's) last fought in January 2020 and lost by third-round TKO to Apti Davtaev in Atlantic City, NJ.
Saturday, April 10th -- Thomas Gymnastics Training Center, Rock Hill, SC -- Veteran Baltimore, MD super middleweight Jessie "The Beast" Nicklow will be in a six-round bout against Juan Celin Zapata of The Bronx, NY by way of Honduras. Nicklow (27-10-3, nine KO's) has not competed since losing by first-round TKO to Demond Nicholson in March of 2019 in Hanover, MD. Zapata (6-17-2, four KO's) has lost his last five bouts, all by knockout.
Saturday, April 17th -- Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, GA -- Baltimore, MD middleweight Lorenzo "Truck" Simpson competes in an eight-round bout against Francisco Emanuel Torres of Jose Leon Suarez, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Sinpson (9-0,five KO's) last fought in October of 2020 when he won an eight-round unanimous decision over Sanny Duversonne in Las Vegas, NV. Torres (16-3, five KO's)is riding an eight-bout winning streak including an eight-round unanimous decision victory over Louis Hernandez on February 20th in Shelbyville, NC.
Saturday, April 17th -- Sports Zone, Derry, NH -- Frederick, MD cruiserweight Larry "Hitman" Pryor will be in a six-round rematch against Scott Lampert of Dover Plains, NY. The bout will be for the vacant New Hampshire Cruiserweight title. The two men fought in November of 2020 at the Sports Zone with Pryor scoring a first-round knockout/ Pryor (13-23, seven KO's) will look to bounce back from a first-round stoppage loss to Brandon Glanton in December 2020 in Los Angeles, CA. Lampert (1-1, one KO) scored a first-round TKO over Rico DePaolis on March 13th in Windham, NH.
Saturday, April 17th -- 2300 Arena, Philadelphia, PA -- Annapolis, MD super lightweight David "The Demolisher" Veras Pena will be looking for his first pro win as he faces Antonio Allen of Philadelphia, PA in a four-round contest. Pena (0-4) lost by first-round TKO to Joshua Jones on January 16th in Chester, PA. Allen (1-11-1, one KO) broke a 12-bout winless streak with a second-round TKO over Rick Odgen on March 6th in Jonesboro, GA.
Thursday, April 22nd -- Landers Center, Southhaven, MS -- Baltimore, MD super welterweight Sharif "C3" Rahman will be in a four-round bout against an opponent to be determined. Rahman (4-0, three KO's) last fought on February 6th and won by third-round TKO over Gladimir Jacinto in Philadelphia, PA.
Saturday, April 24th -- Silver Spurs Arena, Kissimmee, FL -- Laurel, MD super middleweight Demond "D'Best At It" Nicholson will be in the biggest bout of his career when he tries to stop the undefeated knockout streak of "The Chosen One" Edgar Berlanga of New York City in an eight-round bout that will be televised on ESPN.. Nicholson (23-3-1,20 KO's) hasn't fought since February of 2020 when he won a 10-round split decision over Mike Guy in Hanover, MD. Berlanga is 16-0 with 16 first-round knockouts. Berlanga's last outing was a knockout over Ulises Sierra in December of 2020 in Las Vegas.
Saturday, April 24th -- 2300 Arena, Philadelphia, PA -- This will be the closest we will get to a Beltway card. This will be a Jeter Promotions card that is scheduled to feature six Beltway Boxers. No one has an opponent yet. Scheduled to be on this card are Owings Mills, MD heavyweight Colby Madison (8-2-2, five KO's), Gwynn Oak, MD lightweight Brandon "The Hitter" Chambers (3-0-1, one KO), Germantown, MD featherweight Ebrima Jawara (4-1, one KO), and returning Baltimore, MD middleweight Stephon "The Surgeon" Morris (4-1, three KO's). Two boxers will make their pro debuts on this card: Baltimore heavyweight Evan Harker and Forestville, MD's Jaqeem Hutcherson.
Saturday, April 24th, Vienna, WVA -- Baltimore, MD super welterweight "Bazooka" Joe Veazey will be in a four-rounder against an opponent to be determined. Veazey (2-0, one KO) comes off a third-round TKO over Davon Foxx on January 23rd in Parkersburg, WVA. Also on the card will be Baltimore's Tyrell Boyd, who will be making his pro debut.against Jonathan Cooper of Dunbar, WVA (0-3).
