Breedy Loses Split Decision in Connecticut!

Clinton, MD featherweight Cobia "The Soldier" Breedy has lost a close, 12-round split decision to Tugstsogt "King Tug" Nyambayar of Los Angeles, CA by way of Mongolia Saturday at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT  The bout was a WBC Featherweight title eliminator shown on Showtime.

Breedy got off to a good start in the bout as he pressured Nyambayar in the opening round.  However, Nyambayar, a 2012 Olympic Silver Medalist, landed a short right hand with about five seconds remaining in the round and dropped Breedy.

Nyambayar would drop Breedy a second time with a left hand in the second round. To Breedy's credit, he would stay in the fight due to his pressure.  The native of Barbados would win one judge's scorecard, 115-111.  However, the other judges saw the contest for Nyambayar, 114-112, and 114-113.

Breedy suffers his first defeat and he is now 15-1, five KO's. Nyambayar bounces back from his first pro loss, a WBC title opportunity to champion Gary Russell, Jr. and he is now 12-1, nine KO's.
