Alexandria, VA's Keyshawn Davis is in Halle, Germany with other members of Team USA's Elite Performance Squad for the 2018 Chemistry Cup which starts there this coming week.
Davis comes off a strong performance in February, winning a gold medal at the Stradja Tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria, his first international tournament. Davis also captured a National Golden Gloves title in 2017.
Davis's coach, Kay Koroma, who is also the National Assistant Coach for USA Boxing, will be one of the coaches on the Chemistry Cup trip. Davis will be the second straight local to participate in this tournament. Fellow Alexandria boxer Troy Isley advanced to the semifinals of the Chemistry Cup in 2017.
By the way, USA Boxing has a nice article on Davis. Brian Taylor writes about the struggles Davis had to overcome to get to where he is now. Here is the link: https://www.teamusa.org/USA-Boxing/Features/2018/June/08/Keyshawn-Davis-is-Pushing-His-Way-to-the-Top
