Zarifbek Nishanbaev weighed 154 pounds for a four-round contest against Cordell Powell Saturday at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix, AZ. Powell weighed 149 pounds.
Nishanbaev, a boxer from Arlington, VA by way of Kyrgyzstan (3-1, two KO's) last fought on July 13th and won a four-round unanimous decision over Donald Wallace at Michael's Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie, MD. Powell is from Las Vegas, NV (0-1) and lost his pro debut to Cesar Valenzuela by first-round TKO in El Paso, TX.
