Davis Gives Comments As He Prepares For Championship Bout April 21st!

Baltimore, MD super featherweight and former IBF Super Featherweight champion Gervonta "Tank" Davis gave some comments as he prepares for his bout for the vacant WBA Super Featherweight championship against former WBA Featherweight titleholder Jesus Cuellar on Saturday, April 21st at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

For this bout, Davis has moved his training from Baltimore to West Palm Beach, FL where he is working with noted trainer Kevin Cunningham, who worked with former world champions Devon Alexander and Cory Spinks.  Davis is sharing a training camp with former four-division world champ Adrien Broner, who will battle former welterweight champ Jesse Vargas in the main event.  Davis explains why he decided to train with Cunningham.

"I was actually going to go to Colorado to train, but Adrien invited me to come down here to West Palm Beach to check out the camp. He said I should come to Florida to train with him and Kevin. So I came down, I saw Kevin's routine and I really liked it.

"There were a lot of distractions in Baltimore and I think they were a problem for me. I needed to straighten my head and focus on the things I have to work on. It was time to set my camp somewhere else.

"I needed a change after my last fight. I let myself down. I learned to be a different fighter, more responsible. I let others down, but think I let myself down more than anything."

The card also features another former world champion Jermall Charlo who will take on Hugo Centeno, Jr. for the interim 160-Pound world title.  The card will be televised by Showtime beginning at 9 PM ET.
