Reed Drops Unanimous Decision In California!

Waldorf, MD super lightweight Mike "Yes, Indeed" Reed has lost a 10-round unanimous decision to undefeated Arnold Barboza, Jr. of Los Angeles, CA tonight at the StubHub Center in Carson, CA.

Reed had difficulty dealing with Barboza's six-inch reach advantage early in the contest as he had difficulty getting inside.  Barboza was able to keep Reed at distance with a solid left jab.  In the third round, Barboza made Reed stumble with a big right hook.  Reed, however, was able to stay upright.

In the later stages of the contest, Reed did a better job of cutting the ring off and getting inside Barboza's reach to land shots.  However, Reed lost too many rounds early on the scorecards.  Reed lost the bout by scores of 97-93 (twice) and 96-94.

Reed has now lost two straight contests and is now 23-2, 12 KO's.  Barboza remains undefeated and is now 18-0, six KO's.
