Beltway Referee Chevalier To Arbitrate World Title Bout Thursday In Japan!
Congratulations to Beltway-area referee Kenny Chevalier who is in Tokyo, Japan to officiate the IBF Super Bantamweight title bout between champion Ryosuke Iwasa of Kishiwa, Chibe, Japan (24-2, 16 KO's) and challenger Ernesto "Chocolate" Saulong of Santa Rosa City, Laguna, Philippines (21-2-1, eight KO's) on Thursday, March 1st.
According to Boxrec.com, this will be Chevalier's 13th world title bout and he has traveled to such locations as the Philippines, South Africa, Mexico and Panama. This will be his second trip to Japan. Chevalier has also been the third man in the ring for a number of world title bouts that were held locally including Sharmba Mitchell vs. Reggie Green, William Joppy vs. Ray McElroy and Andrew Council vs. Bernard Hopkins.
