Bates, Madison Score Knockouts In Philadelphia!

Two Beltway Boxers scored knockouts on a Kings Promotions card at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA on December 1.

Washington, DC junior featherweight Marcus "Dreamcrusher" Bates scored a sixth-round knockout over Antonio Rodriguez of Mexico.  Bates used a left to the body to drop Rodriquez to the canvas.  Rodriguez did not beat the count and the bout ended at 2:37 PM.  Bates is now 8-0-1, seven KO's.  Rodriguez falls to 11-20-1, five KO's.  One added note, five of Bates's seven knockouts have come in the final round of the contest.

Owings Mills, MD heavyweight Colby Madison recovered from a first-round knockdown to stop Randy Easton of Sunbury, PA in the second round.  Like Bates, Madison stopped Easton with a body shot.  Easton got up from the blow but could not continue. The bout was stopped at 2:44.  Madison rises to 5-0-1, four KO's while Easton drops to 4-10-2, four KO's.
