Two Beltway Boxers lost in bouts Saturday at the Claridge Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. Willis "The Prophet" Lockett of Takoma Park, MD dropped a six-round unanimous decision to undefeated Trenton, NJ cruiserweight Mike Hilton. Lockett lost by scores of 60-54, 58-56 and 60-53 to drop his record to 14-21-6, five KO's. Hilton went the distance for the first time in his pro career and he is now 7-0. six KO's.
Washington, DC middleweight Jessie Singletary was stopped in the first round by Shaddy Gamhour of Pensacola, FL. Gamhour dropped Singletary with a right hand and the bout was halted at 1:43. Singletary is now 0-3. Gamhour, who is trained by former world champion Roy Jones, Jr., raised his record to 4-0, three KO's.
