Baltimore, MD's Gervonta "Tank" Davis has scored a eighth-round knockout over Francisco Fonseca of Costa Rica tonight at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
Davis, the former IBF Super Featherweight champion who lost his belt on the scales by being two pounds overweight, fought well in spurts but had a tough time keeping Fonseca off of him at times.
In the eighth round, Davis hit Fonseca with a body shot followed by two right hands that looked like they landed slightly behind the head. Fonseca dropped to his knees and referee Russell Mora counted him out. The bout ended at 37 seconds of the eighth.
Davis remains undefeated at 19-0, 18 KO's. Fonseca loses for the first time and he is now 19-1-1, 13 KO's.
