Maryland Boxers Split Pro Debuts In Harrisburg, PA!

Two Maryland Boxers made pro debuts on a card at the Small Arena PA Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, PA on June 17th.

Salisbury, MD light heavyweight Ryan Watson made a successful debut winning a four-round unanimous decision over the equally debuting Carl Murphy of Harrisburg. According to well-known boxing writer JR Jowett, Murphy won a close bout by scores of 39-37 across the board.

Also on the card, Baltimore, MD welterweight Dan Koch lost his pro debut by first-round knockout to debuting Roy McGill of Harrisburg.  Jowett reports that Koch was caught by a McGill right hand that dropped him face first on the canvas.  The bout was stopped at 2:21 of the round.

One other note on this card.  There were four bouts on the card and six of the eight boxers were making their pro debuts.
