Three Locals Remain In National Golden Gloves!

Three local boxers are still in the competition to win National Golden Gloves honors at the Cajundome in Lafayette, LA.

Wilfredo Avelar advanced to the semifinals of the 141-pound division with a 5-0 decision over Keenan Glaude of the Mid-South region.  Keeshawn Williams won his bout at 152 pounds with a 5-0 decision over Michael Calvin of the NY-Metro region .  Also, Keyshawn Davis is in the semis of the 132 pound division by way of a 5-0 victory over Jose Camacho of the Omaha region.

The tournament is over for Genc Pllana who lost his quarterfinal bout at 178 pounds by a 3-2 decision to Rafael Gaitan of Texas.  Also, Javon Campbell lost a 4-1 decision to Kevin Montano of California and Rasheed Wright fell to Tommy Robinson of Detroit by a 3-2 score at 114 pounds.
