The Baltimore Pro Boxing card that will take place on Friday, May 12th at Michael's Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie, MD has been revamped but still looks like a very interesting card.
The originally scheduled main event -- the NABA USA Cruiserweight title bout between Maryland boxers Nick Kisner and Alex Guerrero -- is off the card. Kisner, the defending champion, suffered an injury in training. However, the replacement main event should be a good one as Baltimore, MDsuper welterweight "Dangerous" Donald Wallace will take on Washington, DC's Gregory "Glizzy" Clark in a six-round contest.
Wallace (2-0, one KO) last fought on January 13th and won a six-round unanimous decision over Tahir Thomas at Michael's. Clark (2-1, one KO) won by fourth-round TKO over Devin McMaster on April 4th in Bethlehem, PA.
In a four-round super lightweight contest, undefeated Glenarden, MD's Drayvontay Speed-Rawls will battle Evgueny Metchenov of Gaithersburg, MD. Speed-Rawls (8-0-1, six KO's) stopped Rynell Griffin in the third round on March 25th in Washington, DC. Metchenov, a native of Sofia, Bulgaria, lost his pro debut on the March 30th card at Michael's, dropping a four-round split decision to Jahmal Dyer.
West Virginia lightweight Matthew "Boogieman" Bowling returns to action as he battles the returning Dwayne Martin of Laurel, MD in a four-round contest. Bowling (4-0, four KO's) has scored first-round knockouts in all four of his bouts. That includes his last outing on February 4th when he stopped Richardo Dejesus in Martinsburg, WVA. Martin (2-1, one KO) competes for the first time since January of 2010 when he won a four-round majority decision over Darrell Martin at Michael's.
In a welterweight bout, Virginia's Craig Callan will face off with Howard Thompson of Shelby, NC. Callan (2-1, two KO's) comes off a first-round TKO over Brian Otey on October 22nd in Winchester, VA. Thompson lost his pro debut on April 29th, dropping a four-round unanimous decision to Pedro Martinez, Jr. in Charlotte, NC.
Debuting Baltimore cruiserweight Desmond Townes will battle veteran Martez Williamson of Akron, OH (3-18) in another four-round bout.
