April 25 Noted As 'Lamont Peterson Day' In DC!

Congratulations to WBA Welterweight champion Lamont Peterson who was honored on Tuesday with a special day by the District of Columbia.

DC Mayor Muriel Bowser was on hand to present the three-time, two division world champion with a special proclamation naming April 25, 2017 as "Lamont Peterson Day" in the District of Columbia.  Peterson was honored for his work in and out of the ring, especially for his charity work.

This is not the first time Peterson (35-3-1, 17 KO's) has received such an honor.  Peterson was honored by the DC City Council in June of 2009.

Peterson last fought on February 18th, winning the WBA title with a 12-round unanimous decision over David Avanesyan in Cincinnati, OH.
