Two Northern Virginia boxers will be involved on a King's Promotions card on Saturday, March 11 at the Sugar House Casino in Philadelphia, PA.
In the main event, "The Pride of Alexandria" Brandon Quarles returns to action in an eight-round middleweight contest against Tyrone "Young Gun" Brunson of Philadelphia. Quarles (18-3-1, nine KO's) is coming off a six-round unanimous decision over veteran Marcos Primera on June 25 in Greensboro, NC. Quarles has won five in a row.
Brunson (23-6-2, 22 KO's) set a world record for most consecutive first-round knockouts with 19 to start his pro career. Brunson's first unanimous decision win came against Primera -- an eight-rounder -- in October of 2009. Brunson is 3-6-1 in his last 10 bouts.
In another bout on the card, Juan "The Savior" Rodriguez of Haymarket will face off with David Gonzales of Philadelphia in a six-round bout. Rodriguez (6-6-1, five KO's) will be looking to break a four-bout losing streak. In his last outing, Rodriguez lost by seventh-round TKO to Mykal Fox on November 5 in Fort Washington, MD. Gonzales (8-1-2, two KO's) will look to bounce back from suffering his first pro loss, a first-round KO loss to Samuel Teah on November 11 in Chester, PA.
