Mayor's Cup To Be Held In Southeast DC July 29-31!

At one time, the event was the creme de la creme of amateur boxing tournaments in Washington, DC.  Since its inception in 1985, the Mayor's Cup has been an event where future world champions -- from the Beltway and beyond -- have competed in.  Beltway legends like hall of famer Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson, Sharmba Mitchell, Keith Holmes, Derrell "Too Sweet" Coley and Gerry "Rock" Payne participated along with many nationally-known future champions like Ray Mercer, Riddick Bowe, Kennedy McKinney and Al Cole.

The tradition of the Mayor's Cup returns on Friday-Sunday, July 29-31 at the Ridge Road Recreation Center located on 800 Ridge Road in Southeast, DC.  The bouts begin on Friday at 6 PM, Saturday's card starts at 11 AM and Championship Sunday will start at noon.
