Alantez "SlyAza" Fox remained undefeated Thursday night with a sixth-round TKO over Paul Valenzuela, Jr. of Mexico at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, CT.
Here is how Fightnews.com's Jason Marchetti saw the contest:
The fight opened with Valenzuela scoring on the inside with body shots followed by overhand right hands. In the 2nd, Fox landed a flush straight right hand to the temple and wobbled Valenzuela on the ropes. As the fight progressed, Fox used his jab to keep Valenzuela away and the tiring opponent took more and more punishment as cuts opened on both sides of his face. Fox scored heavy with his left hook in the 5th and Valenzuela could not answer the bell at the end of the 6th round. Fox was likely way up on the scorecards at the time of the stoppage by the ringside doctor.
Fox raised his record to 20-0-1, nine KO's while Valenzuela falls to 17-4, 11 KO's.
