Beltway Boxers Head To Norfolk July 16!

Three Beltway Boxers will be a part of a Ponytail Promotions/Sho Nuff Promotions card at the Masonic Temple in Norfolk, VA on Saturday, July 16.

Columbia, MD light heavyweight Kwame Ritter returns to action in a four-round contest against the debuting Nathaniel Edge of Snow Hill, NC.  Ritter (2-0, one KO) has not fought since winning a four-round unanimous decision over Santos Martinez in March of 2015 in Woodlawn, MD.

Featherweight James "Too Slick" Early of Seat Pleasant, MD continues his busy 2016 with his third bout in five months.  Early (2-0) will battle with Marquis Pierce of Newark, NJ (1-9) in a four-rounder.   Early won a four-round unanimous decision against Tyshae Ferguson on May 14 in Timonium, MD.  Pierce won his pro debut in June of 2013 but has lost nine in a row since then.  That streak includes a four-round unanimous decision loss to Alex Barbosa on May 14 in Philadelphia, PA.

The card will also mark the pro debut of Baltimore, MD super featherweight Mack Allison IV.  The son of noted Baltimore trainer Mack Allison III had a solid amateur career, winning a Junior Golden Gloves title and faced the likes of James Early and Keeshawn Williams in the Open Division of the Washington Golden Gloves.  Allison IV will take on Brian Raglin of Indianapolis, IN (0-13) in a four-round bout.  Raglin has been stopped in every bout he has been in, including first-round stoppage losses to Beltway Boxers Cobia Breedy and Drayvontay Speed Rawls.

Three popular Tidewater-area boxers will participate in the featured contests on the card.  Frankie "The Freight Train" Filippone of Norfolk (20-5-1, seven KO's) will battle Dennis Sharpe of Bayonne, NJ (17-20-4, four KO's) in a 10-round super middleweight contest.  Lightweight "Dangerous" Dorin Spivey of Portsmouth, VA (45-7, 33 KO's) will face off with Stephon McIntyre of Jonesboro, GA (2-22-2) in an eight-round encounter.  Also, heavyweight Jerry "Slug" Forrest of Newport News, VA (12-2, 11 KO's) will take on Lamont "Too Smooth" Capers of Hawley, PA (6-8-2) in a six-round bout. Capers is coming off an upset eight-round split decision win over Nick Kisner on May 27 in Atlantic City, NJ.
