A couple of Beltway Boxers will be involved in bouts at the Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, CT on Thursday, June 30.
Veteran Baltimore, MD light heavyweight Willie "For Real" Williams will face undefeated Charles Foster of New Haven, CT in a six-round contest. Williams (14-11-2, four KO's) will be trying to break a three-bout losing streak that includes a first-round TKO loss to Luis Garcia on December 5 in Brooklyn, NY. The streak started with a second-round TKO loss to future hall of famer Roy Jones, Jr. in Concord, NC in March of 2015.
Foster (10-0, five KO's) last fought on June 11 and won by first-round disqualification over Ralph Johnson in Quincy, MA. Foster also holds a victory over Beltway Boxer Larry Pryor. Foster won a six-round unanimous decision over Pryor at the Foxwoods in January of 2015.
Participating in the co-feature on this card is Manassas, VA-born super featherweight and two-time women's world champion "The Bolivian Queen" Jennifer Salinas who will battle Gina Chamie of Budapest, Hungary in an eight-round encounter. Salinas, who now trains and fights out of Providence, RI (18-3, four KO's), has not fought since her 10-round unanimous decision win over Melissa St. Vil on November 12 in Cockeysville, MD. The win earned Salinas the Universal Boxing Federation Super Featherweight title and the bout was chosen as the 2015 Beltway Boxing Bout of the Year.
Chamie (14-6, six KO's) is a former WBC Youth lightweight titleholder but has struggled when competing against more experienced opponents for bigger titles. Chamie last fought on May 15 and won a six-round decision over Veronica Hornyak in Budapest.
